To both celebrate and to pray for a good launch of the Sony PlayStation 5, Sony took over and lit up the Kanda Myojin Shrine in Akihabra.
The Kanda Myojin shrine was not the only location being used to launch the PlayStation 5 but the shrine is likely to be the oldest, standing tall after 1,300 years of History. Akihabara is one of Tokyo’s biggest tourist destination and is a Mecca for geeks around the world due to it’s connections to the gaming and wider otaku communities. The Kanda Myojin shrine has a special place in many anime fans hearts due to its significant roles in Steins Gate and Love Live! School Idol Project!
As Sony released the Playstation 5 worldwide on November the 12th with some delays in certain countries due to the global health pandemic Sony wanted to celebrate in style with the heart of the celebrations kicking off in Akihabara.
What did you make of the Sony’s Celebrations? What games are you looking forward to playing on the new PlayStation 5?
